Hello Hello! How are you?

Today, and for my first post of 2023 (YAY!!), I’m bringing you my TBR for the 12 Books Challenge invented by @lucidalumina.  I saw this challenge on Twitter and Instagram so many times, so I decided to give it a go, and I’m so happy with the books that people have picked for me!

Here is the template with all the picks for this challenge, keep on reading to see who recommended what to me!

Leslie from @bksRthenewblack recommended Shadow of the Gods by John Gwynne, an adult fantasy/high fantasy that I keep seeing about and I’m so intrigued by!

Hannah from @HanLovestoRead recommended Amari and the Great Game by B. B. Alston, the second book in the Middle Grade Fantasy Supernatural Investigations series that I loved the first instalment of so much it made me cry happy tears! Bring on the next adventure!!

Bunny from @bookswithbunny recommended Hidden Pictures by Jason Derulak, a horror mystery/thriller that sounds right up my alley and is already on my GoodReads 2022 Choice Awards TBR, so two birds with one stone and all that!

Esther from @BooksCozy recommended The Crown Conspiracy by Michael J. Sullivan which is the first book in the Riyria Revelations series, which is high fantasy. I’m really looking forward to reading this as I had never heard of it before but it sounds really good.

Mary from @marysimms72 recommended The Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner, which is a historical fiction mystery. I’ve wanted to read it since before it was published but have never gotten around to it, and a few people actually recommended it for this challenge, so I know I really need to pick it up sooner rather than later!!

Candyce from @bookdutchesses recommended Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus, a historical fiction romance that sounds really unique and interesting, so I’m excited to discover it!

Jenny from @jenjenreviews recommended The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson, a YA mystery. Since I already know this author and love her Truly Devious series, I have a feeling it’s going to be a really good read.

Fiona from @biblio_fi recommended A History of What Comes Next by Sylvain Neuvel. It’s the first book in the Take Them to the Stars series, which is an historical science-fiction series I’ve been very intrigued by for a while now, so I’m excited to get to read it this year.

Erika from @AndOnSheReads recommended The Mysterious Case of the Alperton Angels by Janice Hallett. This is her newest mystery and I already read and loved her two previous books, so I know already that this is going to turn into a favourite.

Noly from @theartsyreader1 recommended Mrs England by Stacey Halls, a historical fiction mystery. I bought this one a few months ago so I’m excited to start it soon, it might be my first pick from this list actually!

Becky from @beckyc_89 recommended Legendborn by Tracy Deonn, a YA fantasy with a stunning cover and a very interesting premise. I’ve wanted to pick it up for a while now, so luckily I have the excuse to buy more books, hehehe!

And finally, Stephen from @Stephen1308 recommended The Silent Companions by Laura Purcell which is a gothic historical fiction horror. I love the sound of the blurb and have a really pretty edition of this book, so it’s also going to be one I pick up sooner rather than later in 2023.

Thank you to everyone who recommended a book for my challenge, I love the sound of all of them and I’m really looking forward to reading books you’ve loved enough to recommend them!

That’s all for now, I hope you enjoyed reading this post.

See you soon, stay safe,

Ellie xx
