Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Hello Hello! How are you?
I’ve been looking forward to getting my O.W.L.s TBR ready since the announcement went up on YouTube on G’s channel, Book Roast. Go check out her announcement video if you don’t know what the O.W.L.s Magical Readathon is or if you are still on the fence about joining in!
This is the first year I’m going to do this readathon, I wanted to do it last year, but I was super busy and only found out around the middle of April, so I’ve been ready for the 2020 readathon since May 2019 aha!
It took me an insane amount of time to choose a career, but I finally settled on Librarian! For this career, I have to read 5 books (5 prompts for 5 O.W.L.s). Danni from For Books Sake said that she was super busy and was probably not going to be able to take part in the readathon this year, so I asked her if she would help me choose my books and I was so happy that she said yes!
These are the O.W.L.s I will be trying to complete, along with the prompts and the books we chose for each!
✨ANCIENT RUNES: Heart Rune – Heart on the cover or in the title
📚 Every Heart a Doorway (Wayward Children #1) – Seanan McGuire
✨ ARITHMANCY: Magical qualities of number 2: balance/opposites – read something outside your favourite genre
📚 Hold Your Tongue – Deborah Masson
✨DEFENCE AGAINST THE DARK ARTS: Grindylows: book set at the sea/coast
📚 Demons of the Ocean (Vampirates #1) – Justin Somper
✨HISTORY OF MAGIC: Witch hunts: book featuring witches/wizards
📚 Shadow of Night (All Souls #2) – Deborah Harkness
✨TRANSFIGURATION: Animagus lecture: book/series that includes shapeshifting
📚 The Third Sun (Daughter of the Phoenix #1) – Victoria J. Price
I’m hoping that I can get through all of these books, along with any blog tour books, author requests, and other TBRs I have set up for April. My university classes finish on the 3rd of April and I have until the 10th to submit my last essays, so that still leaves me 20 days to READ, READ, READ!
Thank you so much Danni for your great recommendations, I can’t wait to read Hold Your Tongue and Demons of the Ocean, thank you for helping me pick the other books too, you were a great help and I had tonnes of fun!
That’s all for now, I hope you enjoyed this post, tell me what books you’ll be reading for the O.W.L.s in the comments down below! See you soon, stay safe,
Ellie xx
You’re welcome! Thank you for letting me help, I had lots of fun 🙂
I hope you enjoy both the books I recommended, I personally love both!
Good luck getting through them all 🙂
Of course Danni, it was only natural to ask for your help, I’m sure they’re actually going to be super great, I haven’t read the blurb on purpose so it’s a surprise! Thank you 💕
Good luck Ellie! I went for the Librarian career last year and I really enjoyed the prompts. Hopefully you will too!
Thank you Aoife, I’m really looking forward to my first year!
This looks soo fun, great career choice too!!! I hope you enjoy all your reads!! 😀 <3 😀 <3
Thank you! It took me a hot minute to decode but I’m so glad I went for this, it’s a challenge but not too stressful at the same time!! Thank you hun 💕💕
You’re welcome!! It looks like a lot of fun! Glad it isn’t too stressful, may have to do this next year!😊💜
5 books seems like a good number, next year I’m going to try Alchemist, I think it’s the one with all the prompts aha! 💕💕
Ahah 5 does seem decent, ooh good luck with that one then if you do do it next time!😊💜🥰
Thank you hun! 💕💕 I hope you get to do it next year too!
You’re welcome, honey! 💜 I hope so too! 🤞🥰💜
Great TBR! Can’t wait to see what you think of them all!
Thank you! I’m sure they are going to be fab!!
I’ve been so debating on whether or not to participate in this. I would love to and actually want to do the Librarian as well, but gosh with my reading amount lately I worry I won’t get to it!
I’m a bit worried to but I’m going to try to really concentrate on the owls as soon and as often as I can! I’m sure you can do it, there are some other career with less prompts, maybe you should try that instead? I also recommend audiobooks, they’ll get you through a few quickly!
I’m taking part in the readathon too although I can’t choose a career so I have three TBRs to choose from 😂 great TBR! I listened to Every Heart a Doorway on audiobook and enjoyed it – hope you do too!
Oh wow! I hope you get through them all! Have you posted your TBR yet? I’m really looking forward to my books, thank you! 🥰
