Hello Hello! How are you!

It’s finally Sunday, yay! I feel like this week has been long, frustrating and just generally meeh, I’ve gotten quite a lot done though, which is good and now I can concentrate on some of my own books!

If you missed my announcement at the start of the month about how the Hype-A-Thon Readathon was special this month and the next, you can check out my post about it here. Our first part of this Summer Special was a bit of a fail…. Noly and I picked up The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien first and our first impression was that it was a great adventure tale. We’ve only read a few chapters so far, but we are going to seriously give it a go in July and hopefully, we can finish the books!

This post is going to be a fairly short one. I obviously didn’t finish a book for the Hype-A-Thon in June but we started it and are enjoying it. We always end up being so busy for some reason, but as long as we keep reading a bit every evening or so, we might be able to get the books read!

In July we will be continuing and hopefully finishing The Hobbit. We will also be starting Journey to the Centre of the Earth by Jules Verne and Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson. We should be able to finish all three of these if we get seriously motivated, so please give us some motivation in the comments. We’re really excited to read these books, we noticed such a difference in The Hobbit, it was so fantastical and adventure-y, we are really looking forward to more adventures!!

In August, we are also going to do something a bit special, we haven’t worked it all out yet, but I think that many of you already taking part in the Hype-A-Thon will enjoy our next theme! It involves many things, all of them hyped, and that is all I am going to say about that!

September is going to be the one year anniversary of the readathon, isn’t that crazy? I can’t believe it’s been a year since Noly and I started talking on Twitter, let alone having made the Hype-A-Thon. We know we don’t always do a great job with the books we set out to read, but it’s our baby and we love our reading sessions! Tell us what themes you feel like reading for September!

That’s all for now, I think this was my shortest post ever in the history of Ellie posts, but it serves its purpose, now we just have to put our serious reading hats on and FINISH THESE BOOKS!

I hope you enjoyed this post, let us know on our Twitter account what quest, adventure or travel book(s) you will be reading in July and what you think the special August theme will be! Don’t forget to use the hashtags #hypeathonreadathon and #JourneyJuly when talking about the books and giving us your thoughts! See you soon, stay safe,

Ellie xx

    1. Yess!!! I need to finish it, I already know I’m going to love it, it’s just sometimes really daunting actually reading a book that is so loved, isn’t it?
