Hello hello! How are you all?

I can’t believe that tomorrow is the last day of 2020, it couldn’t come fast enough, but it also seemed to absolutely fly by and I would have liked a little extra time to relax because I’ve been doing university assignments all week, I can’t wait to hand them all in and finally sleep for a whole day aha!

Today’s post is a little different from the usual Hype-A-Thon monthly one, as Noly and I have decided that we are going to go on a hiatus from the monthly readathon themes and reads, BUT, we are planning something very fun that we might do as a quarterly feature, so keep your eyes peeled for that, but before I get into more information about the coming months, here is a little wrap-up!

DECEMBER WRAP-UP

I think we can get the bubbly and all the chocolate out because Noly and I have READ the Hype-A-Thon books this month, YAY!!! After a few months of being very behind, we were able to read 2 books for #MerryDecember, and what lovely books they were! Kudos to Noly for the great choices!

We wanted to go for some classic Christmas reads that are still popular today, so we picked A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens that we haven’t finished just yet, How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss which we finished and finally Letters From Father Christmas by J.R.R. Tolkien, which we also finished.

Actually, we started and finished How the Grinch Stole Christmas in only 6 minutes on the 1st of December, it was such a quick read but a very lovely one indeed! And Letters From Father Christmas was probably the loveliest, happiest and sweetest book I have read all year! This was also a really quick read, but I was smiling from start to finish. I don’t know why, but I was kind of nostalgic reading it at times, and at others, I just couldn’t hold back my laughter, it was so good! I’ll have reviews up of both of these in the coming weeks hopefully!

JANUARY ANNOUNCEMENT – it’s time for a little break

Noly and I have been hosting this readathon since September of 2019, and we have had SO much fun. However, lately, we have just been very very busy and we don’t want to put too much pressure on ourselves or anyone else, so we are going to be taking a little break!

If you still want to read hyped books you have on your TBRs, please feel free to talk about them with us and use the #hypeathonreadathon hashtag if you wish.

We won’t be posting any themes each month for the Hype-A-Thon, but we will still be reading together because we have a lot of books to catch up on! And we will tweet about them from our Twitter account so you know what we are reading!

Here are the books that we need to catch up on in the next months:

So, we are going on a little hiatus and we don’t know when we will be back, but as soon as we have caught up with all our reads from this past year (that we failed to read for the readathon, oops) we are going to be setting up something a bit more fun for you all, and we really hope that you will want to participate in new themes or prompts!

We are really excited to catch up on all our reads and we will be planning out our new surprise, we really hope you will join us again soon!

That’s all for now, I hope you enjoyed this post, see you soon, stay safe,

Ellie xx

    1. Thank you so much Jade! So far, we really enjoyed it and it reminded me a lot of the vibes I got reading Dracula, I hope you enjoy them if you decide to pick them up! 🙂
